Θρίαμβος της Adele στα Grammys 2017

Πέντε βραβεία απέσπασε ο David Bowie μετά θάνατον για το «Blackstar».

Η Adele επαλήθευσε τα προγνωστικά και ήταν η μεγάλη νικήτρια των 59ων βραβείων Grammy, κερδίζοντας πέντε βραβεία, ενώ η Beyoncé κέρδισε το βραβείο καλύτερου urban contemporary album για το «Lemonade». Οικοδεσπότης της βραδιάς ήταν ο Βρετανός κωμικός James Corden.

Κατά την αποδοχή του βραβείου για καλύτερο τραγούδι η Adele απολογήθηκε για το ξέσπασμά της κατά το tribute στον George Michael και ευχαρίστησε τον Greg Kurstin, με τον οποίο έγραψε το «Hello». Όταν ξανανέβηκε στη σκηνή για το βραβείο του δίσκου της χρονιάς, δήλωσε ότι αγαπά τον manager της όπως δεν αγαπά τον πατέρα της, ενώ σχολίασε ότι δεν μπορεί να αποδεχτεί το βραβείο, καθώς πρέπει να πάει στην Beyoncé για το «Lemonade».

Ο Chance the Rapper, ο οποίος κέρδισε το βραβείο καλύτερου νέου καλλιτέχνη ευχαρίστησε τον Θεό, τους γονείς του και την γενέτειρα του Σικάγο, ενώ όταν τιμήθηκε με το βραβείο καλύτερου rap album, ομολόγησε ότι δεν το περίμενε και δεν είχε προετοιμάσει κάτι αξιόλογο να πει. Οι Twenty One Pilots απέσπασαν το βραβείο καλύτερου pop duo/group performance και εμφανίστηκαν επί σκηνής με τα εσώρουχα τους.

Ο David Bowie κέρδισε συνολικά πέντε Grammys (συμπεριλαμβανομένων για καλύτερο alternative music album και rock performance), ενώ το «Blackstar» Bowie ανακηρύχθηκε καλύτερο rock τραγούδι της χρονιάς. Ο Drake τιμήθηκε με δυο βραβεία – για καλύτερο rap τραγούδι και rap/sung ερμηνεία – για το «Hotline Bling» ενώ η Solange απέσπασε το βραβείο καλύτερης R&B ερμηνείας για το «Cranes in the Sky».
